Silly Season begins...

I'm in the process of putting together the Top 35 Driver group page and thought I would update everyone with what I found at www.jayski.com

The changes for 2011 has Brad Keselowski moving to the #2 Miller Lite car while Kurt Busch will campaign the 2011 season in the #22 Shell-Pennzoil ride.

Marcus Ambrose joins Richard Petty Motorsports (or whatever it's going to be called) in the #9 Stanley Tools machine. Paul Menard will move over to RCR and change to number 27.

Kasey Kahne moves over to the Red Bull Racing team and will run in either the #82 car or possibly run as the #4, car number still TBD.

That's it for now, I've posted a link to the 2011 Driver Groups so everyone can get a head start on their 2011 picks but please remember that this is only preliminary. You'll still need to make sure that the drivers you pick are actually running in 2011!

Homestead results

It seems that there was an error in a few peoples points. I caught the error when some numbers didn't add up properly so I reviewed everyones picks against the actual finishing position for all drivers and have corrected any errors. Sorry about that.

Our final standings are correct and official.

The biggest effect this has is on Steve Thorpe's final position. Instead of a possible 1st position he now finishes in 4th. Don't imagine he'll be buying me any beers next time I see him...but at least he stays in a money paying position!

Thanks everyone for taking part in Daryl's Nascar Pool. I'll post the 2011 Driver Groups in the next little while so make sure to come back and play again next year!

'til next year...

Phoenix results

Hi Gang,

Well, we're almost done with only one race left. No-Howe still has the possibility of winning this thing! Which I think is a first. Usually the 1st place person has the win wrapped up by this point but there's only 30 points between first and second so there's still the possibility of an upset!

It feels like this has been one of the closer races we've had, so it's been fun!

Next week I'll be out of town for a few days and won't be able to publish the winner right away. I'll probably be back on Tuesday or Wednesday to publish the 'official' results. Good luck to everybody!

Texas results

Hi Gang,

The standings have been updated. I guess I must've jinxed Wii-Texan, they've dropped 2 spots this week out of the money! Sorry! :)

The race was pretty good yesterday, lots of drama with Hamlin taking the win. At least someone is challenging the 48 team!

Talledega results

Okay, this catches us back up! Phew, that was fun...

With only 3 races left, Steve has a pretty good lead on No-Howe but I think that everyone still has a pretty good shot at the win. Well, maybe not the Wii-Texan but it's good to see a couple of our new people up in the Top 5. Keeps 'em coming back for more! ;)

'til next week...

Status update

Hi all,

I've finally found a program that I can use to complete the results! Now I have to catch up for the last couple of weeks. Hopfully I'll have that done before this weekends race.

race update

Hi all,

I had a bit of technical difficulty last week. My hard drive crashed. I was able to save the files for our pool but I don't have a copy of office right now to be able to do this past weeks results.

If anybody has a copy of Office 2000 or later that I could 'borrow', please e-mail me or get a hold of Daryl and he can call.

I'm searching for a copy as well so hopefully I'll have something worked out before too long.

California 400

Hi Gang,

The standings have been updated. No change in the Top 5.

'til next week...

Monday, October 4, 2010

Kansas 400

Good to see the chase points close up some instead of the 48 just running away with it.

Sonia Smith got the low score of the race but it just tightened up the Top 5 a little more. Still could be anybodies win. Steve's only 50 points ahead, can anyone catch him before it's too late?

'til next week...

Monday, September 27, 2010

Dover results

No-Howe had a good race and moved up two spots to take 3rd place. Both Sonia Smith and Tex drop one place but stay in the Top 5. There's actually a tie for 5th place between Tex and Wii-Texan, who also had the low score of the race.

Tight points race from 2nd on back. It looks like Steve Thorpe has a pretty comfortable lead with a 72 point margin but you can never tell.

'til next week...

New Hampshire race

Here we go, first race of the chase, 9 more to go. Sucks to be Tony Stewart...wouldn't want to be his crew chief explaining why he ran out of gas!

Standings didn't change any, still the same Top 5.

'til next week...

Monday, September 13, 2010

Richmond results

Well, here we go. On to the chase, zzzzz. :)

Good night for Coach Gibbs. I don't think things changed too much in the standings...

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Atlanta race results

Almost forgot about posting the results!

No-Howe didn't have a good result and has dropped out of the Top 5, for now. Kramer sneaks in and takes 5th spot...

Bristol Race results

Well how 'bout that Kyle Busch? Sweep of all three races in one weekend. Pretty amazing, really. That's a lot of racing!

Our standings haven't changed much again, I'm back in the Top 5 and that's about it. Told ya it wouldn't be long... :)

'til next time...

Michigan results

Harvick wins the race and secures a spot in the chase. Good for him, I guess. Guess I should've picked him, eh? :)

The results have been posted. I got booted off the island, for now...

'til next week...

Watkins Glen

Sounds like it was a real barn-burner of a race! Good for Montoya to get a win but it sure would be nice to see him win on an oval. He can do it, just has to have the planets align for him or something...

No-Howe took a beating in the standings this week. He went from 1st to 3rd with a score of 107, ouch! Steve Thorpe and him swapped spots. Not much else has changed aside from that.

'til next week...

Thursday, August 5, 2010

Pocono race

Wow, that was a huge wreck that Elliott Sadler had! You know that had to hurt when it rips the engine off the front of the car! Wow!

No real big changes in the standings this week, Tex sneaks into the Top 5. Oh wait, that's me! :D It was really low scoring this week so it didn't seem to really mix things up too much.

Watkins Glen should mix things up a bit in the standings! Always entertaining when they go there!

'til next week...

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Brickyard 400

And once again, 68 Barracuda has the dubious distinction of having the high score of the race. That's seven times, so far, including a run of three in a row!

And there's still 16 races left! Ahhh, it's been a long year so far, eh Daryl? :) Hornish is killing ya! Guess you won't be picking him next year. I read he's having sponsorship problems anyway. Might not have the funding for next year. Pretty amazing that Penske can't get sponsorship!

I think they're doing that Pocono thing this weekend. I'll try to get the results done the first of the week. ;)

...'til then.

Chicago race

Damn, did it again... and it was Reuti's first win, too. Oh well, guess I'll have to do it the hard way!

Coke Zero race

...and here's the results for the last race in Daytona.

This one really hurt Steve Thorpe's lead. It's been shaved down now to only 8 points! The Top 5 are all pretty close but I wouldn't rule out anyone else sneaking in, there's just too much racing left to do!

'til next week (hopefully, lol)...

New Hampshire race

Oops, I guess I missed this one.

I'll post the results here because we have a couple of weeks to get caught up on...

Sonoma race results

I didn't get a chance to watch the race, sounds like it was pretty dramatic in the end. Bad bit of luck for Marcus Ambrose...

Bad bit of luck as well for Moose. He dropped 2 spots, into 5th, after posting a 134. Which is more than double that of the leader, Steve Thorpe who carded a 63. Both Eat My Dust, who was the recepient of the low score award with a 53, and Sonia Smith took advantage of Mooses bad luck.

I think the Sprint cars are in New Hampshire next week. I heard they're going to announce an IndyCar race there for next year at the race. Should be good for the area to have IndyCars back and good for IndyCars to have a short-track back!

'til next week...

Michigan 400

Hi gang,

I was able to get the results done and I found a place on the web where I can store my scoresheet files! It was a good day, sorta. :)

So, you should be able to click on the Link to '10 Standings and get the proper page. I hope, lol.

If anybody has any problems, let me know. See y'all next week.

Pocono

Hey this was easier than I thought!

For some reason I thought I was further behind. Which is okay because then I don't have as much work to do, lol.

Hamlin won the Pocono race on a GWC finish.

I'll add the results in this post, as well as on the sidebar because, hopefully, I'll be updating the standings tomorrow. That is, once Nascar makes them official and I drag my ass off the couch!

This Weeks Top 5

June 6, 10

Standings update

Hiya,

It's been a while. Been busy jetting all around the nation. Well, almost... :)

I did go to the Indy 500. That was a lot of fun. Freakin' hot, ho-boy. 96 deg ambient temp and hardly any breeze at all. The track temp was said to be over 130 degrees!

I don't think I've ever sweated that much while doing nothing!

I still haven't found a place to store the spreadsheet, so I'll just do the Top 5 updates and you guys will have to believe me! :)

So this update is for the Coca-Cola 600 a couple of weeks back. Kurt Busch won the race.

This Weeks Top 5

May 30, 10
1) Steve Thorpe 881

4) Moose 897

Dover 400

Hi all,

The results have been posted for this past weekends results. I'm a little late on this one, lol. Good thing it's an off week.

Think I'm gonna go watch the Indy 500 so I'm going to miss the 600's results right away. Everyone keep track and I'll catch up (hopefully) when I get back.

Darlington results

Hi gang,

I'm gonna have a bit of a problem hosting the results sheet for a while. I'll try to figure out a place to post the excel spreadsheet but until then you'll have to make do with the Top 5 results.

...which are now posted! Steve Thorpe finally gets knocked off his perch at the top of the standings by No-Howe. Of course things are still tight in the race, it's still early in the season. There's only just over 100 points separating the Top 10.

Hope everyone is keeping track of their points! Good luck to everyone this weekend. Cup cars are gonna be smashing it up at Dover! Or, at least they should be. ;) Have a good weekend everyone.

Hot 'lanta

Hey all,

That was quite the ending, eh?!

So what do ya think about good ol' Carl taking out Keselowski? I think he did it then for two reasons, 1) get 'er done! and 2) he takes a (possible) 5th place finish away from BK. That probably pissed Carl off more than anything else, seeing that kid having one of his best races after being involved with him so early.

Logano suffered from that fracas as well, he ended up 1 place ahead of Keselowski. :)

Buckled Up retains the early lead in the standings. Kramer dropped to 8th place... just goes to show how much positions can change early in the pool. Nice to have the early lead but nicer to have the lead in about 30 races!

See y'all in a couple of weeks. Nascar is taking a break and I've got F1 and Indycar races to watch!

Las Vegas

The results have been posted for this race. I was watching the hockey game so I missed the race.

California 500

Hey! Surprise! Jimmie Johnson wins! Man, that guy never stops, eh?

The results have been posted and everything's been jumbled up a bit. I'm sure we'll have that for a little while until the results start averaging out. There's a 4-way tie for 3rd place right now!

Las Vegas is up next, it's a pretty fast 1 mile oval that's always good for some action.

Daytona results

The results are official, one of our new players is in the lead. 'My Mother-Inlaw and Me' took first with 39 points. I couldn't fit that name into the database so I had to shortform it. Who picks a name like that? oh well...

Had a good time at Daryl's with the marathon race! I was so excited I wanted to cry, maybe I should drive in Nascar... :)

Off to Califor-knee for race two, lets see some bump drafting now!

Daytona countdown

Hi all,

I wanted to update the driver pick list, Casey Mears is not in the 07 car this year. That team has been shut down. Casey has a 6 race deal with a new team starting this year.

Other than that, it's just over a week before the race so make sure you have your picks in early so that you get the drivers you want.
