Phoenix Championship race result

Kyle Larson is the race winner and the Championship winner of the season. Hard to believe he got where he is considering where he was just a year and a half ago! Congrats to Kyle on a remarkable season and to all his fans!

Congrats to NINJA on winning the NASCAR racing pool for 2021 and to the rest of the top 5 for their winnings. Also, congrats to Piston Broke for the free pick next season.

Thanks to everybody who played this year, we hope you had fun following your favourite drivers thru the season and we hope to see you back again next year.

Martinsville race result

The race winner was Alex Bowman.

Hate to see the race win decided by one driver knocking another out of the way. Mistake or not, it just doesn't seem right to me. Bowman should have gotten an avoidable contact penalty but NASCAR doesn't apply that penalty so the drivers can do what they want on the track. I guess it appeals to the crowd that shows up for the wrecks...

Just one race left in the season and it looks like the Top 6 will finish within the 6. Maybe with some crazy drama number 7 might sneak in but it's all just a matter of which order the Top 6 finish. Good luck to everyone.

Kansas race result

Wow! What can you say about Kyle Larson?! He's sure having a season to remember. That's his 2nd time winning three races in a row this season. And during the playoffs when the pressure is so high.

Incredible team, incredible driver!

Texas race result

Shocking! Kyle Larson wins again! The guy just is a winning machine, gonna be hard to beat this guy for the Championship!

Charlotte Roval race result

Surprise! Kyle Larson wins again, this time to make sure he makes it to the next round. Seems that Harvick didn't want to do that after driving into the Turn 1 wall...always lots of drama when it comes to the Playoff Races!

Here are the standings following the Charlotte Roval race:

Talladega race result

Oops, I realized that I missed posting the race result because of the delay start to Monday. Sorry Bubba! Great to see the team, and driver, get a win. As a new team they've done great and it's good to see Bubba Wallace get that first win off his back. Hopefully more where that came from.

Excel standings link update

 Hi all,

I was having trouble last night uploading the excel file for the standings that is linked in the box to the right and found out that the site I use to host the files is having some tech issues. There's nothing I can do about it until they get things sorted out on their end.

I'll keep checking with them to see when the hosting site is back up and running but until then you won't be able to get a copy of the excel results spreadsheet. Sorry about that!

Just to be clear, I'll still be posting the weekly results like always, you just won't be able to see the excel spreadsheet I post every week.

Cheers!

Las Vegas race result

Denny Hamlin punched his ticket to the next round with the win at Las Vegas.

I tried to stay up and post the results but couldn't do it, lol. Gettin' to be too much of an old fart, had to get to bed so I could get to work in the morning. But, here we are today, so that's good.

Here are the standings following the Las Vegas race:

Bristol race result

These Saturday night races mess me up a bit, I always forget about 'em and wait for the Sunday race...

Anyway, Kyle Larson takes another win in an incredible season with Hendrick Motorsports. Four drivers have been eliminated, hopefully all your favourite drivers are still in the playoffs!

Here are the standings following the Bristol race:

Richmond race result

Sorry for the delay on the results, I was out of town for the weekend.

Martin Truex Jr. was the race winner with JGR taking the top 3 spots. That means Joe Gibbs racing has won the last two races in the playoff with Denny winning last week. Seems they've turned up the heat!

Here are the standings following the Richmond race:

Darlington race result

Denny Hamlin finally takes home a win! Sounds like he was chased hard by Larson but Hamlin was able to prevail. Some drivers had a shitty race, some drivers came out okay. Sounds pretty typical for Darlington!

Daytona race result

Ryan Blaney was the race winner! His second in a row and the third podium in three races for him after finishing second at Indy. Great momentum for him going into the playoffs.

Speaking of the playoffs, they have been set now with Tyler Reddick claiming the last qualifying spot for the playoffs. Kevin Harvick finished last in the seeding but he was already qualified for the playoffs.

Here are the standings following the Daytona race:

Michigan race result

It was a close finish but Ryan Blaney prevailed and won the Michigan race! I caught the last 8 laps and it was a storm burner, great action 'til the checkered flag! I've always enjoyed the Michigan, and California, races. Just seems there's something about those 2 mile ovals that just create some great races.

One more race to set the grid for the Playoffs. See who will be the next champion, any guesses?

Indy Road Course race result

A.J. Allmendinger wins at the Inaugural Indy Road Course race! I checked to see if that puts him into the playoff races but I couldn't find anything that said he was in so he must not qualify because of his part-time status.

That was only his 4th cup race this year. Still, great achievement for a part-time ride. I'm pretty sure that he's running cup full time next year so he may be someone to keep an eye on for next year.

Watkins Glen race result

And Kyle Larson wins again, fifth time this year! Seems to be no stopping Rick Hendrick Motorsports, the team is certainly firing on all cylinders. It'll be interesting to see how they react to the new chassis next year.

Here are the standings following the Watkins Glen race:

Sunday, July 18, 2021

New Hampshire race result

Aric Almirola was the race winner of today's race. Sounds like it was a bit of a shit show getting the race started, with the rain coming early. Pretty tough to race in the rain with slick tires...

Here are the standings following the New Hampshire race:

Atlanta race result

Saw I was getting a little behind so decided to get a big update done. Playoffs are coming up so we'll be paying more attention when that rolls around. Hope everyone is enjoying some summer!

Kurt Busch wins his way into the playoffs one last time for Chip Ganassi racing and proves he's still capable of winning, even on a track that is breaking up underneath him. Crazy that they have to stop the race to patch the track, lol.

Here are the standings following the Atlanta race:

Road America race result

Never thought I'd see NASCAR cars racing around Road America! But, here we are and I'm not surprised Chase Elliott won the inaugural race. He's got a knack for the road courses, that's for sure!

Here are the standings following the Road America race:

Pocono race 2 result

Kyle Busch picks up his first win this season. I think it dates back to a little bit last season as well. Good to have lots of teams winning instead of just one dominating.

Here are the standings following Pocono race 2:

Pocono race 1 result

Alex Bowman was the race winner, all in the Hendricks family this season!

Here are the standings following Pocono race #1:

Nashville race result

Kyle Larson was the race winner, kid is really puttin' it together this season. Great team to back him as well.

Sonoma race result

Oops!! Saw I was a couple weeks behind in the results, so here's a big update to get us all caught up.

Kyle Larson wins again, two in a row! Also, his teammate was right behind him giving the Hendricks team 4 races in a row with a 1-2 finish tying a 50+ year old record. Pretty unbelievable results for the team!

Here are the standings following the Sonoma race:

Charlotte race result

Kyle Larson wins again at the longest race of the season! Hendricks teams are on top of their game and winning everything, it seems. Him and Chase Elliott are just swapping wins for giggles.

Here are the standings following the Charlotte race:

COTA race result

Chase Elliott was the race winner of the inaugural COTA race. They had some rain...Cup cars really aren't meant for rain, it seems.

With all the mayhem, Mama Bear loses the lead in the pool. NINJA snuck up and stole it away!

Here are the standings following the COTA race:

Dover race result

Alex Bowman was the race winner, his 2nd of the year. Also, it was a Hendrick's racing top 4 finish, crazy!

Darlington race result

Congrats to the three-time winner Martin Truex Jr.! Gibbs is still on a roll, gonna be a tough team to beat this year.

Looks like Mama Bear has got some competition now, NINJA is only 20+ points away. Haven't seen such big points gaps in a long time. Just goes to show how mixed up the season has been.

Here are the standings following the Darlington race:

Kansas race result

Kyle Busch was the race winner. Seems like Joe Gibbs racing is doing a good job this rear with their winning cars.

Talladega race result

Brad Keselowski was the race winner, needing an overtime round to win. Had some drivers flipping over in their car, again. Super speedway racing is always so on edge, just inches from a crash. Guess that's one of the reasons why they're so popular, because you never know how it's gonna turn out.

Glad to see that everyone was okay after all the wrecks.

For our pool, Mama Bear is schooling everyone early in the season. With an almost 60 point lead this early in the season, it's gonna be a long summer of trying to play catch up for everyone else!

Here are the standings following the Talladega race:

Richmond race result

I didn't get a chance to watch the race, too busy with other things. But, Alex Bowman won the race which makes him the 8th winner in 9 races. Great to see so many different race winners!

Here are the standings following the Richmond race:

Monday, April 12, 2021

Martinsville race result

Martin Truex Jr. was the race winner for the Martinsville night/day/night race. He is the first repeat winner this season. He's such a consistent racer, hard not to consider him capable of winning another championship.

Bristol dirt race result

Well that was quite the race! I missed most of it because I had to work but did get a chance to watch the ending. Congrats to Joey Logano.

Lots of dust and pretty much single lane racing, unless you wanted to knock someone out of the way. Looked like there was lots of that. But, pretty interesting for a change!

Here are the standings following the Bristol dirt race:

Monday, March 22, 2021

Atlanta race result

What a finish for Ryan Blaney, congrats to him for the win! Six different winners in six races, it's been a pretty good start to the year.

Here are the results following the Atlanta race:

Sunday, March 14, 2021

Phoenix race result

Back to the usual suspects for the race winner, Martin Truex Jr.

I slept more than watched the race so I can't comment on it but I'm not surprised to see Truex win. He's a proven winner and champion and you're not gonna hold Joe Gibbs racing off the win column for too long.

Here are the standings following the Phoenix race:

Las Vegas race result

Well, that didn't take long! Kyle Larson is the race winner. Seems like all the Hendrick cars are performing well. But, Larson knows how to wheel a car, that's for sure. How many more will he win this year?

Here are the standings following the Las Vegas race:

Tuesday, March 2, 2021

Homestead race result

Congrats to the winner, William Byron. Not quite three 1st time winners in a row as this was Byron's second win. But, he came from 31st to win.

Seems like the status quo has been mixed up a bit, I think that's a good thing.

Daytona road race result

Well, pretty strange to see the NASCAR cars on the road course at Daytona but it's a new year, right? Having said that, it was a pretty entertaining race with comers and goers and lots of action throughout the field.

Also, another first time winner in NASCAR with Christopher Bell winning in his 2nd race with Joe Gibbs racing. Looks like the kid might do okay!

Here are the standings following the Daytona road race:

Daytona race result

 Well, here we go!

Daytona is always good for an upset, so it was nice to see McDowell score his first win after 357 races across 13 seasons. He must really like racing to race that long without winning...

Anyhoo, lots of big crashes and I'm sure a lot of peoples favourite drivers got taken out but that's the nature of the superspeedway racing. We see the same thing at Talladega. So, don't get too worried if things didn't start for your drivers quite like you wanted. It's a long season and there's lots of time to get better results.

Here are the results from the Daytona race:

2021 Drivers Picks

Hello players!

We've got another exciting year of NASCAR racing to look forward to and here's hoping that everybody's favourite driver has a great year!

We lost a few players and gained a few more and ended up with two extra people, so welcome to them. I'd like to apologize to the players that had special characters in their player names. Unfortunately my spreadsheet doesn't like the number sign or apostrophes in the names. So I've had to modify the players names to conform. That means Left Turnin' and #9's my neighbor had to get their names adjusted.

The list of Driver Picks are posted in the link below so everyone can see all the picks and be sure that there are no duplicates.

2021 Driver Picks

Nascar has a very long season, so I don't always get the regular season standings updated every week. Sometimes I might even miss a few weeks in a row. But, once the playoffs start I'll always make sure to get the standings updated weekly and hopefully on Sunday night. No promises on the Sunday night thing though, lol.

If anyone has any questions or comments, you can comment on the posts or my email is in my contact info down below. If there are any errors in the spreadsheet, please email me or you can contact Daryl, his number is on the driver groups page that you used to make your picks.

Again, thanks for joining the pool, we hope you have fun following your favourite drivers, and good luck to everyone!

I hope that everyone is doing well and ready for another year of Nascar racing. I've got the driver pick sheet done and posted. Please contact Daryl or Kelvin at the numbers on the pick sheet.

Remember to get your picks in early it's first come, first serve. You want to make sure you get your favourite driver!

The Daytona 500 is on February 14th this year so the picks must be in before the green flag drops.

Good luck everybody!
