Shane van Gisbergen is the first race winner in the historic Mexico City race. I think I heard that there was another international race but that was back in '58 or something. On one hand I think it's smart for NASCAR to go to Mexico, but it would probably have been better if they found an oval to race at.
I'm an open-wheel guy, so don't get me wrong I love a good race course. But NASCAR's identity is with ovals, not road courses. I feel like the more they've gone to road courses, the more fans have gotten disinterested. I guess ya gotta go where the money is, but I'd still like to see NASCAR mostly ovals...
